“I don’t want to do XYZ because the market is too saturated.” Well, I have news for you…every market is saturated so that’s a bad excuse. If you’re a small fish in a big pond, there are other ways for you to make a name for yourself and stand out against the competition.
- Video content: Video guarantees you are unlike anyone else because you are YOU! Your personality will shine through and it significantly builds trust between you and your prospect or existing customer.
- Testimonials: Ask your customers to share why they loved working with you! Them sharing their experience is gold. It proves that you are the real deal and others should want to work with you. Don’t be afraid to straight-up ask for testimonials. People are more than happy to send you one, but they might not think to do that on their own. They just need a nudge.
- Customer service: This goes hand-in-hand with testimonials. When people have a great experience with you, they want to tell others about it. Focus on creating an incredible customer experience that is unlike anything else on the market so people have lots to talk about! I personally have had people come work with me simply because they had a poor experience somewhere else, where they didn’t feel important or heard. Start there.
- Be inspired by others in your field, but don’t copy.
- Put yourself out there: Ask to be on podcasts. Ask to be a speaker at events. Tag big names on social media. Leave reviews, comments, likes, etc. Ask to be an expert contributor in a local publication. Ask to be a guest blogger. Do whatever you gotta do to get your name in front of people! That momentum will build, connections will be made, and one opportunity leads to another. If you get denied? Oh well, their loss.
