Are you actually ready to go viral? & how I did it

I think we all create social media content and secretly hope this is going to be “the one.” The one that takes off, leads to hundreds of new followers, brings in ideal clients, finally gives us the brand awareness we’ve been hoping for. But are you actually prepared if that were to happen?

What if you DO go viral and your bio says, “David’s wife. Love to fish. Midwest living. Get fit with me.” Uhhhh what?? Even though all of those things describe me, they say nothing about what I do, who I serve, and why people should follow me. So even if someone comes to my page, they probably won’t follow and definitely won’t take action by clicking the link to my website.

Here are 3 things you need to have ready now to maximize your viral opportunity later:

– Niche down or theme your account so the right kind of people will stick and the wrong kind of people will leave

– Fix your bio so it’s clear who you help and how you help them

– Have a place for new people to go such as a website to join your email list. Make sure this link works! Check on it often.

I went mini-viral and it was ridiculously easy

A post of mine went mini-viral. I call it mini-viral because it wasn’t an astronomical number but for my page? This was HUGE! But here’s the thing…it was almost too easy. I simply reposted a quote graphic that resonated with me and used a niche hashtag set.

To give it an extra boost, I shared the post to my story and tagged an influencer knowing there was a high likelihood that he would re-share the tagged story and he did. All of a sudden I was getting new follows, message requests from people asking how I did it, etc.

It was a showstopper quote. While it was simple, the viewer didn’t have to click on anything to see what it’s about so they saw it, immediately loved it, and shared it. My caption didn’t mean anything. I know this because I asked a question in the caption and only a couple people actually responded to that question.

Thankfully, my bio was clear, website was working, and account was attracting a certain type of individual so I was ready for this!

Your homework is to go try it for yourself and report back on how it went!
