There are a few things that affect your engagement on social media. While it’s easier to blame the algorithm because clearly it’s NOT your amazing content, right? Sorry to bring some bad news, but it very well might be you…not to worry, we can fix that.
Your content cannot be self-serving
If you are trying to serve your followers, you have to make it about THEM, not you. If they choose to follow you or stick around on your page, what’s in it for them? Are you educating them on something they are interested in? Are you entertaining? Are you making content that they will want to share with their friends and family? If the answer is “no,” it’s time to change up your copy. Need help? Let’s chat.
Everything looks the same
You want your imagery to have similar themes, but not look the same. Sharing the same content over and over makes you predictable to your existing followers, and looks boring to prospective followers. Loosen up a bit, get opinions from others who are not working on the content every day.
Call to action
If you aren’t giving your audience a reason to engage, they won’t. A few ways to add a call to action: Ask their opinion, ask a question, host a giveaway, link to something valuable for them, etc.
If you are still feeling stuck, let’s talk. I offer one-on-one consultations, social media audits, and group trainings that might be able to help.
