Using social media stories is a great way to “hack” the algorithm because content shows up in chronological order. While it’s easy to share your latest post in your story, if you want to always be at the forefront of your audience’s mind, that isn’t enough. Best practice is to post 10 stories per day. That sounds pretty do-able, right? It definitely is, but after awhile, you might be starving for content ideas.
The majority of us are not social media influencers taking all-expense paid vacations to tropical locations in exchange for social media shout-outs. If you are one of these people, this post is not for you. Instead, you probably feel like your life isn’t that exciting. You do the same routine most days and don’t think it is content your audience wants to see.
Here are some tips to help you get unstuck and bring life back to your stories.
Be yourself
I know you don’t think what you’re doing is all that exciting, but maybe it is! Maybe you do the same thing every day, but the way you do it is unlike anyone else. That’s great content, but to you, it’s just normal life.
Add value to make your audience care
I love my family’s dog. He’s the cutest thing and I could post pictures of him all day long, but I don’t. Why? Because it’s not helpful. When other people post pictures of their dog, I don’t stop and think about how cute it is, so why would I think other people would do that for me? Whatever you share should have an element of value to it – is it funny? Is it educational? Is it inspirational? Ask those questions.

There are millions of other people on social media creating amazing content that both you and your audience would enjoy. Go seek it out and share it. Not only is it easy content, but you’re showing support for other accounts and it can grow your page following too!
