Quick tip: How to turn rejection into a referral

Rejection is NEVER fun but it’s a normal part of any business. It can be frustrating, disappointing, sometimes even hurtful if we take it personally. (Yep, I’m still working on that too.) What if I told you that there’s a way to soften the blow a bit and turn lemons (rejection) into lemonade (referral)?!

🍋  Here’s what you need to do.

When you get that rejection message, don’t show your frustration. Try to stay cool. Instead of responding with, “Ok thanks,” ghosting them, or repeating why they need what you are offering, try this.

Them: “I can’t afford it but thanks for thinking of me.”

You: “You’re welcome! Who do you know that might need this?”

You can also make it a bit more personal like, “Who do you know that might be looking to start a healthy lifestyle?” or “Who do you know that is looking for help starting their own business?”

**Note that I didn’t say “Do you know someone who needs this?” That is a closed “yes or no” question. We want the question to be open.

🍹 When you get a name, then you can contact that person, let them know who sent you, and start a conversation. You will never run out of people to talk to!
